Plumbing

Make sure the plumbing system is in tip-top shape, even if you think it is in good condition. There is a lot more that could be going on with your plumbing that you aren't aware of. For example, if there are old pipes in the walls, this might come up during the homebuyer's inspection, and they might require you to replace them before buying the home. You can get a jump on this now by having some of the pipes replaced with new ones. If you go for a high-end type of pipe like copper, you can even increase the sale price of your home.

Electrical Work

It is very important that the electrical system in your home is inspected and repaired before you put the house on the market. Look for signs of having issues with the electrical wiring, such as flickering or dimming lights, hot outlets, or frequently blown fuses. These are all signs that you have faulty wiring and should be calling an electrician to have it looked at. If you have an older home, the electrical system likely needs an upgrade before selling the home.

Roof

Your roof is another area of the home that might seem to be in good condition but could have potential issues.
